About me
I am Hongkun Yang, an undergraduate student in Mathematics and Applied Mathematics at Ocean University of China. I work with Professor Wei Dong at Nanyang Technological University and Professor Wei Qiu at Rice University. My research centers on responsible AI, with a focus on robust, reliable, and ethically sound machine-learning systems for real-world data. See Publications for recent work.
My recent work spans vision-language-model adaptation, knowledge distillation for personalized ECG models, legal judgment generation, and speech technology for endangered languages.
I am actively seeking Ph.D. positions beginning in Fall 2027.
